At Pfannenberg, we’re committed to redefining what’s possible in industrial safety and signaling. Following our tradition of innovation, we’re excited to unveil the new PROTECT Series, a robust line of signaling devices engineered to thrive in the harshest environments and meet the highest standards for performance and safety.

Build for the Toughest Environments

The PROTECT Series sets a new standard for signaling durability, featuring a virtually unbreakable die-cast aluminum housing. This rugged construction ensures reliability across a wide range of industries, from fire alarm and marine applications to machine safety, functional safety, and hazardous areas. Whether you’re dealing with extreme weather, heavy impacts, or challenging industrial settings, the PROTECT Series is designed to deliver dependable performance where it matters most.

Versatile Solutions for Complex NeedsPRO 10 Audible Alarm in steel facility

The series includes both sounders and combined sounder-light devices, available with six different lens colors and options for either Xenon or LED visual signaling. This flexibility allows you to tailor your signaling solution to your specific application, ensuring maximum visibility and audibility.

Key Features at a Glance

Certified for Safety: The PROTECT Series meets stringent industrial standards, including Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Marine Equipment Directive, and UL Class 1 Division 2 Explosion Proof certifications. This ensures suitability for critical safety applications and hazardous locations.

Selectable Tones: With 80 tones and four externally selectable additional tones, you have precise control over your signaling. The pre- and main alarm function helps prevent shock reactions by starting with a reduced sound level before escalating, enhancing safety for personnel.

Adjustable Sound Pressure: Dip switch settings provide seven adjustments from 86–116 dB, so you can match the sound output to your environment’s needs.

Outstanding Perceptibility: High sound penetration and multi-voltage compatibility reduce the number of devices required, streamlining installation and minimizing inventory.

Easy Installation: Designed for quick setup to help minimize downtime and installation costs.

Spotlight on PRO 10 and PRO X 10

PRO 10: This versatile sounder is certified for marine, functional safety, and explosion-proof requirements. With a maximum sound pressure level of 116 dB(A) and an IK09 impact-proof rating, it delivers clear, reliable signaling even in the noisiest or most hazardous environments.

PRO X 10-05: Combining audible and visual signaling, the PRO X 10-05 features a high-performance Xenon flash strobe light, 5 Joules, and a sound pressure level of 116 dB(A). Its robust housing meets IP66/IP67 and NEMA 4/4X standards, ensuring resistance to dust, water, and mechanical impacts. Visual alarms provide comprehensive coverage and reducing the number of devices needed for full protection.

Engineered for Efficiency and Safety

Much like our approach with the DHS Hybrid Series, where we combined energy efficiency with maximum uptime, the PROTECT Series was made to simplify safety management. Its multi-functional capabilities, broad certifications, and rugged construction for the harshest environments make it a strategic investment for any facility prioritizing safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Pfannenberg’s PATROL Alarms are the ONLY MED approved devices worldwide

As of May 26 2016, Pfannenberg is the ONLY Marine Equipment Directive approved manufacturer worldwide.

On board safety is mandatory and the quality of installed Signaling Devices is key to avoid risks of injuries whatever the conditions. Pfannenberg is proud to be the only manufacturer whose product quality is certified by the Marine Equipment Directive. This certification is also valid in the US with the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) for testing and approvals according to the 96/98/EC Directive.

What is the MED Marine Approval?

The MED Mark of Conformity confirms that a product or piece of equipment is approved for use on board EU member state ships and ships of countries which have agreed to apply the Marine Equipment Directive 96/98/EC. This is sometimes referred to as the ‘wheelmark’ or ‘wheel mark’ and also known as M.E.D/MED approval or certification. It provides confirmation that the equipment or product is suitable for marine industry use. Its purpose is:

  • To enhance safety at sea
  • To improve the protection of the marine environment
  • To facilitate free trade of marine equipment within the European Union while maintaining a common safety level.

All approved and authorized products are stored in the MarED database which contains information about over 35,000 authorised devices. Pfannenberg Signaling Devices are the ONLY devices stored in the MarED database for the Fire Alarm Category. Products are tested by an independent third party, for use in the marine environment before being granted an approval certificate.

Our certified Signaling Devices

Pfannenberg offers an extensive range of products and solutions designed specifically to withstand the requirements of the marine industry.

Pfannenberg’s Marine Alarms Quality Recognized with MED Certification

Pfannenberg PATROL product line offer modern, visual and audible signaling devices to satisfy both requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping and the Marine Equipment Directive.

Emergencies aboard boats require immediate action, whether they are man overboard, generator failure or fire. To insure timely warnings of such events, visual and audible alarms need to offer superior coverage in rugged, weatherproof designs. Additionally, providing unique, distinctive boat warning for different events can allow the crew to react more quickly and more effectively.
